Amplive - Video Tapez
This song is off of Amplives Rainy Dayz Remixes CD, where he remixes Radioheads entire In Rainbows CD. He also is part of Zion I, which is awesome. Be patient until around 1:10, Del the Funky Homosapien spits.
I also saw Maritime last night, they played a really good new song but I cannot find it anywhere online.

Chester French - She loves everybody

What if I told you this band is consists of two Harvard students who turned down a record deal from Kanye West? You probably would think I am crazy or something. But it's true, and I dont have much left to say about that. Chester French actually ended up signing with Star Trak Entertainment and you know who fronts that label?

MGMT and Of Montreal Going Where Only Eagles Dare

That's right, MGMT's guitarist/singer Andrew VanWyngarden has teamed up with Of Montreal's singer/songwriter Kevin Barnes to form a side project they like to call "Blikkfang." As far as where the name originates, your guess is as good as mine. From what I understand, it is of a Norwegian dialect. They have yet to release any kind of a single but they do have a purevolume you can check out by clicking here. Two tracks are posted on this webpage, one entitled "(Just A Little) Judas Tonic," which is actually a b-side from MGMT's debut album, "Oracular Spectacular," and another called "Nupital Eagles Sharpened," thats a cover of "Where Eagles Dare" by the Misfits, which in my opinion is much better than the original. Despite how good these track both are, Kevin Barnes says "it's unlikely that anything will get released before the winter of 2008," and when the first release comes, you won't see either of these songs on it. They do have a few songs recorded though, with working titles such as "Hypnotic Agents," "Dead Dogs," and "Pleasure Cunt."
PS- If you aren't familiar with either Andrew or Kevin's ancestral works you should first surf on over to MGMT and Of Montreal's myspaces and check them out.

Owen - Good Friends Bad Habits
Mike Kinsella is one of the best singer/songwriters to ever strum a guitar in my own opinion. Straight from chicago I feel the best is still yet to come with this guy. This is a live video, but awesome.

Figurine - IMpossible
band was a precursor to James Figurine/Tamborello's later, more commercially successful project The Postal Service. Tamborello has also used the Figurine pseudonym for an official remix of Bright Eyes' Easy/Lucky/Free in 2005 and a solo album in 2006. Meredith is also a vocalist for Boothby.

Happy Thanksgiving!
So, I am back, and hopefully were a bit more consistant with the site. I somehow heard enouraging things about the site, so it movitated me to do this. Sometimes what motivates you is not always good though, but thats a story for another time. So lets get in the fuckin spirit, right? I don't understand why we have to celebrate thanksgiving during one of the shittiest months, how can i be thankful for anything right now? It's like 16 degrees outside, and I am just rambeling. lets just hope the next year from here is all good and shit.
So some tunes? I have plenty of funky fresh music to make you feel silky and smooth.
How about some christmas tunes from one of my favortie bands.

Great song, new hot artist of the week tomorrow! Shout out to Mil
Flobots Hit Milwaukee!!
Last weekend The Rave and FM 102.1 hosted an exposure show for the Flobots, an indie-hip-hop group right out of Denver. The sextet is often compared with Rage Against the Machine. The show had some low points when the guitar and drums drowned out the two rappers, making it difficult to hear the lyrics. However the viola playing of solo woman Mackenzie Roberts was like candy for the ears. Her solo ending of Combat and then when she began to play Handle Bars, the bands most common tune, the crowd errupted. Overall the show was well done and incase you did miss it they will be preforming at Summerfest on Friday June 27th on the US Cellular Connection Stage at 10pm. Hope to see everyone at the show.

Everyone goes threw change, its how we adapt.

Festival Outlook: Dillo Day (Mayfest)
This Saturday at Northwestern Common, Broken Social Scene, The Cool Kids, Ted Leo and Third Eye Blind will be performing, and honest to god I almost shit my pants in excitement when I saw this lineup. I would trade all of Summerfest for this one day of awesome music.
Shwayze & Cisco Adler
Straight out of the BU…Malibu that is comes Shwayze. Everyone will love Shwayze's first album which is due to be released July 15th. The self-titled album, Shwayze, is a mix of rock-acoustic guitar with some hip-hop laid-back jams. Shwayze (Aaron Smith) collaborates with Cisco Adler who co-wrote all the songs on the album. Cisco Adler, front man for Whitestarr, helped produce Mickey Avalon’s Jane Fonda and Mr. Right. The album is amazing and many people may have heard the new single, Buzzin’ which has begun to gain a lot of play on MTV2 and FUSE. I recommend everyone checking out the album when it hits stores July 15th.

Nite Club - No Matter Which Way
Easily one of my favorite songs from last year, still relatively new and if you are in to any form electro music you will enjoy this song. This is off of Nite Club's Nu Nite Album.
EMC - What It Stand For
Easily one of the most under-rated groups in hip hop EMC is lead by hip hop journeyman Masta Ace, as well as Strickland who happens to be from Milwaukee, their new album The Show was an instant classic.

Atmosphere - When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold

Whether it’s about his alcohol and drug addictions, his struggling love life, or his constant fight to find a reason to keep living Slug takes a step outside the hip hop norm and tells tales that only Ant could throw a beat over. When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold is a much need breath of fresh air and I am happy Atmosphere was the group to deliver it. After my first listen I instantly thought this CD sounds like anything else Atmosphere has put out, but the question arises, is that bad thing? Consistency is extremely hard to find in today’s world of one hit wonders and internet superstars, which is why tracks like Shoulda Known and Yesterday get my head boppin and my mind going trying to capture every lyric Slug drops. Based out of Minneapolis, MN Atmosphere has been at constant work since releasing Overcast!, in 1997, and hasn’t stopped in eleven years. Whether this is your first time listening to Atmosphere or your one hundredth you definitely will not be disappointed.
Common ft. Pharell - U.M.C
This is Commons first single off of his new CD Invincible Summer, Common has slowly gone from a cut and dry traditional hip hop artist to a "i wanna rock the club" artist, and frankly I don't think he fits the mold. But it's a nice attempt.
Stateless - Bloodstream
Stateless is a small band from Leeds, England. They are currently working on recording their second cd. This song is from their first cd !K7 and it's a really good chill song. Also check out Prism #1. I believe it's only a matter of time before Stateless hits the mainstream. So check it out!!

Stacy Clark - Matter of Time
Think of Frou Frou, mixed with a little bit of MIA, and you get Stacy Clark, based out of Buffalo she has been featured on Laguna Beach and is a few clicks away from internet stardom.

Rosewood Thieves - She Don't Mind The Rain Live!
The Rosewood Thieves are a hot American Folk Rock Band from NYC. Their first 2 cd's; From the Decker House (2006) & Lonsome (2007) where so hot. They are getting ready to release a new cd, RISE & SHINE. It will be their first full length album with 10 new hot songs. Check it out, this is number 2 on their cd live from the Echo on May 9th.
The Cool Kids - Oscar the Grouch
First single off their CD the Bake Sale, real tight song, I have always been a big fan of The Cool Kids and this song does not disappoint.

Cut Copy - Lights & Music
First single off their new CD, which is easily in my personal top five CD's of 2008. Check this out, and their CD. I am hoping to get some sort of review section up soon...
Kenna ft. Lupe Fiasco - Say Goodbye to Love remix
Already a good song by Kenna, couldn't get any worse by adding one of the hottest MC's in the game to your remix. Shits too hot.

Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly - The Chronicals of a Bohemian Teenager
One of the best videos I have ever seen, great song too.
Weekley Rewind...Say Hi to Your Mom - Hooplahs Involving Circus Tricks
If we were to rewind a year and half you would hear me listening to this song in my car, great song by a good band. There new CD didnt do much for me, but that doesn't take away from this track.
White Noise - Dont look that way at it
Based out of Austin, White Noise is a group of journeymen indie rockers who's hard work has helped them string together some really good songs.

Moving Mountains - 8105
This is a older song, but one of my favorite songs of 2007. Moving Mountains released an excellent CD and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys good music.
Worst song of the Week
Im bored and was browsing some stuff and came across this song. I feel like I need to post it not because its good but because its funny and really bad.
NEW Albert Hammond Jr. - Frustrations
This song is off his new CD, which is due out sometime in July. Sounds very good for such a raw cut.

Emmanuel Jal - Warchild
If this song doesn't reach you on a personal level, than you must of lost your soul along time ago.
Gucci Man - Bricks
Sing it with me...BRICKS ALL WHITE BRICKS LIKE TEN BRICKS. If you haven't done it yet, you will. I usually wouldn't plug a whack rapper like Gucci but this is easily the catchiest song I have heard in a long time.
Wale - Freaks
Shout out to Goon Squad on this track, Wale (pronounced Wall-Ayy, (like in Ayy baby haha)) Love this song, good artist who brings that go-go type of Hip Hop a lot of East Coasters enjoy.
05/19/08
First off, I love music, which is exactly why I would do this, through you tube videos and various links, I hope to locate and inform whoever looks at this blog to new music, which I am sure we will hear on the radio eventually.
Well first off, here is one of my favorite songs out right now...
Nappy Roots - No Static
Nappy Roots The Humdinger is easily one of my most anticipated CD's of 2008, one of the hardest working hip hop groups in the game should release a classic in June. With every new song they put up on their myspace makes June 17th seem like a million years away. No static was the first song I heard from the CD and does not dissapoint.
Bun B ft. Lupe Fiasco - Swag on Em
With the tragic death of Pimp C many believed that Bun B would never regain or get back to his form he once showed capable of when he was with C in the dynamic duo UGK. Well I have no clue how or when Lupe and Bun got together but there is some definite chemistry between the two and this is one of the best hip hop tracks of 08'.
Why? - By Torpedo or Crohns
By Torpedo or Crohns is off Why's? new CD Alopecia, this song proves that there is still room for originality in the Rap/Hip Hop genre as well as alteration to the Rock genre. Being original can take you far these days and Why? has found a knack at it throughout their numerous CD's.
